Color It Black

Get this straight; this one’s not going to work for every nail biter out there. Although painting nails might help some to quit nibbling, while others might not even give a damn about it. On one hand lots of people will certainly be lucky with this method but on the other hand, some might continue biting right over the polish even if it doesn’t leave an awesome taste in their mouth.

Paint it Nasty

Even if using nail polish fails to work, painting nails with foul tasting substance won’t. There are a lot of products which really taste awful. However, there are chances that you might bite your nails in spite of the junk you’ve used on it but if you have a strong will-power, it really goes a long way in helping you with this problem.

Vegetable Oil or Olive Oil

How about getting rid of the terrible nail biting habit alongside strengthening your nails?  Yes, rubbing vegetable oil or olive oil over your hands will not only strengthen your nails but its awful taste acts as a deterrent to nibbling too. So try this technique to ensure the strength of your nails as well as get rid of nail biting.

Fake Nails

The pros of putting on fake nails is that it acts as a deterrent but the cons is that, when nails get hidden under fake nails, they won’t grow as quickly as it would otherwise. Nonetheless, putting on fake nails will help you greatly but make sure that you are doing it safely and also aren’t damaging your natural nail beds. Since chewing on these fake nails needs a lot of effort and isn’t easy, it’ll surely help you get over the habit as quickly as possible.

Distract Your Hands, Keep them Busy

You can either knit or make string beads or friendship bracelets or do anything that’ll keep your hands busy and thus keeps it away from your mouth.

Alternative Option

Try and wear gloves as much as possible for a couple of weeks so as to kick this nail biting habit.

Try these remedies to quit nibbling and also promote normal, beautiful nail growth.
