Like your skin the nails must also be kept hydrated. Hydration is extremely essential to maintain the health of your nails. Keeping them covered with nail paint is not good always. No doubt, nail paint is an essential criterion when it comes to grooming your nails. But apply it only during special occasions because nail paints prevent moisture and make them dry. Leave your nails bare to allow moisture pass your nails and apply petroleum jelly to maintain the hydration. You can also apply essential oils; it will help retain the moisture and prevent damage. Besides, water is extremely important when it comes to nail care.

Keep Your Nails Clean

Hygiene is important when it comes to nail care. Regular cleaning and filing will keep away dirt and prevent bacteria and germ build-up.  Clean your corners, cuticle and tips. Short nails are easy to maintain. In case you love long nails, you are advised to keep them free from dirt. Change your socks every day and wear cotton socks, which would be healthier.
